Hot wheels of the sub-continent (India)

          The present biggest issue in the Indian sub continent is creating 29^th state named ‘Telangana’. Telangana  is merged with the Andhra state created in 1953 from telugu speaking people of madras state  to form Andhra Pradesh in 1956.

            Telangana’s merger into Andhra state has been done in the year 1956 against the SRC’s recommendations to wait till 1961 to get approval from 2/3 of telangana state assembly and 2 cycles of elections in telangana state(PARA 386). This merger has been done by the gentleman’s agreement between these two region leaders to prevent discrimination against telangana  by the government of A.P.

            The main concern of people of telangana before the merger into A.P is the distribution of revenue as telangana is a larger revenue base but had less developed economy system as of Andhra and as the Andhra region was ruled by britishers and has rich educational system which is quite different from that of telangana as it has only urdu schools but not English, they were tensed In distribution of jobs and in terms of development in education. Administration of telangana is completely different as that of Andhra as it was ruled by nizam and far from the Indian system and also the river distribution or irrigation as they have different agricultural process and better yielding corps though the area of telangana is upper plate. Cultural indifference between them made people of telangana to think about merger into A.P but it was made consoling leaders of telangana with some laws, agreements like gentle man’s agreement, mulki rules, six point formula, e.t.c.,

           Even after the formation of telangana, there is a strong belief in the hearts of telangana for the separate state and was shown extently in 1955 for effective implementation of mulki rules started first by a student in khammam but virally spread in the region of telangana expressing their voice to the state and then in 1969 by the farmers for the injustice and inequality done to them in all aspects of their concern they expressed before merging. In 1969, because of chenna reddy, leader of congress the movement for the separate state was made to pause by killing hundreds of telangana people. But since 2001, formation of Telangana rashtra samiti by Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar rao went deep in the roots of telangana people for their voice to raise. His fast until death made many people realize to start a movement for the separate state. TRS supported people who fought for the separate state. He also  enriched them with his attractive speeches making students, people revolt for the separate state. His strategies made students and people of telangana   to with stand for the point of separate state till today for the injustice and inequality done to them as the concerns of people before A.P and after A.P didn’t change but the concerns they had became reality were the main points for the deep belief of separate state.

         Coming to the point of development, two regions are fighting with, there are undeveloped districts/places in both the regions. Even vizianagaram, srikakulam in Andhra region, 3 districts in rayalaseema region are not developed in the state of A.P as they promised to. But here, we need to take a point of ration between resources and utilization for the definition of development. To say frankly, ratio of utilization for the resources present are very very low than the other regions as the telangana region is the high revenue base region than Andhra. This is the major point for bending towards the state of telangana.

         To say, Hyderabad state is the first state in producing electricity in india when the other regions were using lanterns, Hyderabad state has full-fledged infrastructure for the government to run when there is no particular offices in Kurnool, capital of Andhra state. Under-ground drainage system, reservoir systems ,e.t.c., where Andhra state has lacking behind. So, there has been a deep desire for the separate state.

         To come to the political stand, The  then prime minister indira Gandhi neglected the decision of separate state and sticked to it but now the chair person Sonia Gandhi, seeing people’s movement even supported from a political party made to think of separate state and their vote bank in both the states if decided for a separate state and now as already the decision has done in 2009, taken back and again redecided for the separate state to give and the processs has been going on but as we can see how it’s going. it’s all a political dram before 2014 elections in Andhra and telangana. Though the congress still on the process and made a public statement that the process will be finished in the end of November,2013 and  will be passing a bill in parliament this December ( though a drama is still taking place between parties here in Andhra and also with the national parties , recently mamata benerjee giving support to jagan, Bjp taking different directions though they give statements supporting 29^th state.) need to wait until the decisions are made, bill is passed.

                 Though it is on hot wheels now in India, Formation of 29^th state will only be fruitful if the decisions, distributions equating both the regions benefitting people than politicians.
