She, though a govt. school teacher has made their children more competitive than from english medium private schools. She, first appointed in zpps sundaraiah nagar which has merely a roof for a room of school. Where she taught classes in homes of villagers, thought to improvise the school slowly made a pace in her efforts starting with student strength, then another room, then few basic facilities slowly making cone back of teachers and students with a real look of school. As she never rest herself until she shovers education, her efforts impressed british (europeon or british i dnt remember correctly) personnel then who funded few schools like this first(not now) and a took a documentary of her work. She not only did that in this school. She din't rest herself for 1 school. She made a mark in every school she went. In khanapur or now in shayampet. She taught folk dances to her students even in her 40's made a fracture in her leg but yet din't stop teaching themShe taught doing crafts to her childrenShe taught doing clay vinayaka's, rakhi for respective festivalsShe started consumer club in her school and conducted many workshops related consumerism. Not only that, she prepared her students for district literary competitions both in telugu and english and to surprise, her student won district essay writing in english and selected to state beating all so called private english medium schools (she is a english teacher)She is a part of many environment protection activities fought against plastics and never use it till now. She is a part of green and clean initiative by vivek Yadav, ex- commissioner of warangal. She is the first of her kind to introduce student cabinet in her school as we have in st.gabriel's She is the person who fought, fighting against child marriages in her school village stopping them, giving counseling to both children and parents, conducting workshopsShe is the one who introduced singing jaya jayahe telangana in the school during prayer session early in the morning early in 2009.What not! I may still miss some things which she has done. But, i just wanna introduce her here on the occasion of teachers day selected for 'Best Teacher Award' by MEO solely(volunteerly) without she applied for the award. Thats a good sign though! and SHE deserves it. She's none other than my mom Sujatha VelaparthyIn childhood, during my school days whenever i see best teacher award in newspapers for some teacher. I used to ask my mom just after reading headline "Amma! What did they do to get best teacher award? " then, i again start reading the body of news. Raise my head and say "Amma! You would have got this and not them" she said that teachers need to apply for 'Best Teacher Award and i din't find any logic but, lastly i ask a conclusion note to apply. But she always says No for the materialistic awards to balance with her love for teaching. But, I always want to hear and see that award for her. Now! The day had come Satisfying my mom's principle and my wish. Thanks! MEO saab and all who atleast noticed an english teacher effort. Ma! Though you don't accept the felicitation, You deserve it! I know the pain of all teachers like you.I miss this proud moment amma.Proud of you and Miss you.Do not forget to thank nana This time, in your case A Gentle man so called my proud loving father is behind a strong LADY like you!!!Congratulations to u too nana
