#Been10Years
There is this girl suddenly started experiencing difficulties to get up and walk at some instants. One day after school suddenly she couldn't get up. Tried hard but didn't succeed in getting up. Didn't understand why. Her father came to pick her up after school as usual but had to wait today. Her friend's observed, held her two sides and took her and helped her to get on scooter. They Thought, it might be a muscle cramp as she used to play and mistakenly got hurt somewhere. Applying bengay and resting for hours, pain did go. After few weeks or may be months she got a breathing attack (Some may say Asthma then) She felt So uncomfortable and went to her teacher and told about it and as teacher came out of the class, she started breathing heavily, teacher took her to staff room and then as she started breathing more heavily few other teachers join in applying jandu balm to chest, rub palms and feet and one teacher went to get car to take to hospital informing her father. They held her (She didn't remember what happen later) That was her First admission to hospital, Her First Ventilator. She came out, took medication what doctors described.
After few months, In junior college she got a minute breathing problem but came to normal with breathing some medicine that a warden there gave abusing her for acting because of home sick. She did have home sick but didn't act. After that she got breathing attacks frequently, body pains more frequently. She got admitted to hospitals, had to go through ventilator process many times. There is also that day where Vice Principal of her college suffering from high fever has to take her hospital in the night at 10:30 pm, holding her in his arms, running to the hospital climbing stairs. There is this principal of this college, sat back in the hospital until she opened her eyes. She also used to get head ache, body pains sometimes but they are minute and are neglected. Before few months of her Final exams of first year junior college Her right hand started swelling and paining but 1-2 months before, her right hand swollen so badly and couldn't move. Now this made her parents more worried than before (She got neck band due to her nerve pain when went to doctor). Then her parents, already taken her to many hospitals and specialists (including orthopedics, neurologists, Cardiologist, doing x-rays, ECG, EEG etc tests) took her to Micro Vascular Specialist from AIIMS (Someone recommended them) and he told, checking the 'not so working swollen hand' that she need helper for writing her final exams as it is very near and her hand may not progress till then. He also told that he will be giving a letter so that her father can give application to education dept to give permission for having a helper to write her exams. She and her parents were broken. Her father who took her to that specialist came back to her college and spoke to the principal about the letter. Her strength not to lose hopes didn't show it on her face but when her friend asked about the neck band she rushed to washroom and cried so badly and loudly and there is that friend who came to her, held her and she did console her and there are also Few other friends who helped her, who made her to stand still and built the confidence. So did their parents and their friends. Not just She but no one accepted that she couldn't write on her own, those exams, but she decided to write her own and told her parents and principle the same. She couldn't sit and study as she has Neck band and a swollen hand which would pain a lot with the movement. So, She used to stand and held a book sometimes with her left hand and sometimes resting on wall. She got all the exceptions from residential junior college rules. Everyone including mess uncles, Vice principal, principal and dean did go easy on her. She never used her right hand before exam. First day of exam 'Sanskrit' with both the parents literally keeping their mind and heart together hoping she do better and her work shouldn't go in vain. Inside her exam hall She did try hard. With lot of pain, shedding a tear, after few minutes she held her right hand with her left hand struggling to hold pen in pain. But she made it. she wrote the complete exam and came out of the hall with all smiles just to shout loud that she made it. Then, there goes her parents smile.
Yes She made it! Not just that one exam, She wrote all exams without holding a pen during holidays in between exams but just during exam. She scored 96 in Sanskrit, 88 in the next paper, full marks in the third paper, lost 10 marks in the fourth paper, got full marks in the fifth paper, lost 6 marks in the sixth paper. She then got home after exams and the pain and swelling reduced little(May be the affect of the family around).
One day, Her mother got to meet her old friend who is also a teacher, in bus stand, whose father is a famous doctor in the city. Her friend asked about her and she had to tell about her daughter's health problem and that friend of her suggested to come and visit her father. Her parents took her to him. He asked few questions about her voice, stammering( yes she did stammer sometimes), hair fall, sleep, body pains checking both his hands and pressed near throat. He told my parents to once go and see his son, a cardiologist and tell him to do ECG and Serum test assuring there won't be any thing wrong in those tests but for the confirmation of his doubts and after those tests he told to do T3, T4, TSH (thyroid test) and asked if there is anyone who is having Hypothyroidism. As told ECG and serum test results were normal and her T3, T4, TSH were way too abnormal. It is because of the delay in diagnose and not taking medication affected her body(because it was delayed as no doctor had any clue of telling a patient about thyroid tests). There were also instances she shouted at doctor when the doctor told "nothing happened, you will get fine by taking these medicines". Yes! None of them explained her why is she suffering and from what, but none got her pain reduced. But there is this doctor, with one visit, few questions asked, did solve the major problem but yet to solve completely. He is none other that Dr. Ramaka laxmana murthy and She is none other than me.
P.S: Got to see my marks sheet while searching for some other files. So memories waved me Hi and regained my confidence making a curve on my face.
